I believe that birth is sacred and messy, that it challenges us to dig deep, to face our fears and embrace our strengths, and that everyone deserves love and support as they cross this threshold.

I believe that there is no one “right” way to give birth and that what matters most above any outcome or event is that you are heard, seen, supported, and empowered as you navigate your childbirth journey and make choices that are right for you and your family.

You will always be able to show up as your full, authentic self in our time together.

I support birthing people and their families, partners, and support people in Silver Spring, Maryland and the DC area.

I completed my community-based, full-spectrum doula training and childbirth educator training with Ancient Song Doula Services, a Black woman-led birth-justice organization, in 2021. I see birthwork as a form of community care and a way to reclaim knowledge and structures of support that have been weakened through colonization, white supremacy, and patriarchy. I also have a PhD in population, family, and reproductive health, which means my personal approach to thinking about birth blends the research evidence with deep attention to the personal, emotional, and spiritual aspects of birth decision-making and experiences. I earned my full certification as a doula from Ancient Song and as a birth photographer from Birth Becomes You in January 2024. In my day job, I research how to improve LGBTQ+ health and reduce gender-based violence, and I have volunteered as a crisis intervention specialist for sexual assault survivors since 2009. I am 媽媽 to two beautiful kids.

I’m excited about building a meaningful relationship with you and your family that will be a wellspring of support and a mirror for your strengths throughout your childbearing journey.
